Holly Jolly Christmas by AB Studio, a lovely christmas paper pack, part of my latest kit from
this time a christmas tag.

for this project i used.....

from my stash i used,  red acrylic paint, 3d foam pads, clear gesso, gel medium.

firstly i covered my tag with paper from the pack and then i coloured my paste with the red paint and stencilled it onto the back ground.

i  then did some fussy cutting and using the 3d foam pads and gel medium i layered up my design.

i then went over thw whole thing with the clear gesso, when that was all dry i added the glitter paste to the raised stencill on the back ground and the baubles and candy canes.

lastly i watered down some white gesso and some of the red paint separately and splattered all over with both.

The first of my November projects for Thompsons craft supplies and of course it has to be Christmas themed

I then fussy cut lots of the elements from the extra sheet in the paper pack and some of the larger poinsettia from one of the sheets in the pack.
next I backed my reindeer to give him a bit of strength and then layered up my paper elements, painted them all with clear gesso to add strength .

I painted my wooden word believe in red and added my title and layered up round it.
I then added my flowers and lastly splattered with watered down white gesso.

Mixed Media, Christmas Star

love my Christmas star,
all products from Thompsonscraftsupplies

using the Home for christmas papers from mintay
creative embellishments holly wreath
rustic paint ruby
cheesecloth

firstly i gesso'd the edges of my star, i cut out my backing paper making it slightly smaller than the star , i distressed the edges with scissors, then using a journaling pen and the rustic paint (ruby) also using the ruby i stenciled on the stars onto my backing paper.

i painted my wreath with the rustic paint , placed some cheesecloth in a circle on the star then mounted the wreath using 3d foam pads and gel paste as my glue.

i then did a lot of fussy cutting from the home for Christmas element sheet that comes withing the paper pack, this was all mounted to create height using 3d foam pads and gel paste, all overlapping, i then added my title which is from the Tim Holtz idiology chipboard Christmas quote chips.

i added some ribbon to add a bit more texture and as a hanger.
lastly i mixed some white paint with a little water and splattered.

Sunday, cuttin n stickin

well what a fab Day i had with Louise and Kasia
plotting and planning, cuttin n stickin!!

we were planning a 2020 retreat, making samples of some of the fab new papers in the shop Thompsonscraftsupplies

spending time with fab friends and eating a gorgeous lunch, what more could you ask for.....oh to do it all again soon please!!

these are AB Studio Breeze of the Forest papers, absolutely gorgeous and the quality of these papers is amazing, just loved all the fussy cutting, and layering, one of my fave ways to craft.

started off on the book and i covered the front cover with one of the 12x12 sheets, sanded, inked and sanded again the edges and all over, then i coloured a heavy paste and stenciled some flowers which matched the papers perfectly.

i then went over with a clear gesso.

next was a lot of fussy cutting and picked where my design was going, top left corner and bottom right corner.

i decided on my layering, and then using something to give height to the elements, either folded card, lefteover mdf pieces, those that are left in the sheets or 3d foam pads, i layered up and stuck my pieces in place using 3d gel.

tucking bits behind, lots of overlapping.
then the splattering with watered down white gesso.

when it was all dry i coated it all with a layer of clear gesso to help protect in when in use.

The Gift box

it was the same principles for my box i cut my pieces to fit the tops and sides on my box, using some open scissors i distressed the edges, stuck them down , inked the edges and then covered with some clear gesso which dragged some of the ink into the main paper which gave a lovely effect.

i layered up with some cheesecloth first then the fussy cut elements.
i added my title then covered my title and splattered with watered down white gesso.
