Love This Life-Scrapbook Layout

Love This Life - Scrapbook layout

another from my August Dt kit From Thomsonscraftsupplies

For this project i used......
P13 Till we meet again paper pack
pentart wax - turtle green
AB Studio chipboard sheet -ID87
13 Arts color glow - Ruby

and from my stash i used a text stamp, handmade postage stamps, and some mixed flowers.

i am using one of the floral sheets from the paper pack, it has already printed flowers on bottom left and top right of the sheet so a nice base to start,i then randomly stamped on my base sheet with my text stamp.
i then cout out from several of the other sheet from the pack, strips, no measuring just cut them, so from 1 inch to 2 inch then cut them down from the 12 in that they started again i didn't measure just cut them, i then layered them onto my backing sheet at different heights until i was happy, i placed my photo on top so see how it was looking with that in place, when i was happy i stuck them down.

i also added a post card which is a cut out from one of the papers in the pad

i took 2 of the chipboard leaf collections from the sheet and coloured with the pentart wax and placed them so they would be poking out from behind the photo.
i mounted my photo on one of the sheets from the collection and using foam pads added this to the
lay out
i did some fussy cutting and placed them round the photo , some poking out from behind the photo and some overlapping the photo.
i added my stamps
i placed my title and flowers.
lastly i covered my photo and splattered with the Ruby Color Glow.

Mixed Media Box - Letter Box.

Mixed Media Box

My first project from my August DT kit from Thompson craft supplies.

i just love boxes and tins, i really enjoyed creating this one.

for this project i used......
Pentart crackle paste and primer
Pentart wax paste Turtle Green
13arts color glow emerald
Dina wakley acrylic paint Blushing and Elephant
Hobbilicious box

and from my stash i used, clear gesso, half pearl beads and some ribbons, a flower from a previous kit

firstly i sponged the inside and outside of my box with the blushing and the elephant paints

i then did lots of fussy cutting from my papers and added a couple of the roses to the side of my main box.

then i added the crackle paste just overlapping my roses, for this paste you have to add the primer first to the area you want and then add the paste, you can activate this crackle with a heat gun which is great no waiting for crackle lol

i crackles the top two parts of my lid, being careful not to cover the slits in the top most part of the lid.

i then threaded my ribbons through the slits on the lid and tied a knot and secured it to the other part of the lid and then layered the fussy cut pieces  (which i had painted with the clear gesso and dried ) onto my lid around the ribbon and added more onto the sides of my main box .

when all my layering had been done i went over it all with the clear gesso again, it adds some strength to the card elements on the box and also allows any paints or inks i add to move and sit on the top rather than going straight into the card.

i then added some ore colour with the color glow emerald and water to activate it, i dried it and then went again splattering with the emerald.

added some wax here and there

lastly i added the pearls and the flower on my lid.

Shine-Scrapbook Layout

                                                                    Shine- Scrapbook Layout

I managed to fit one more project from my July kit from Thompsons craft supplies a scrapbook layout of my eldest daughter at my sons wedding, dont think i will ever be finished the wedding photos lol

For this project i used....
AB studio papers Diva
AB studio stencil ID 94
13 arts color glow Tanzanite
Dina Wakley paint Fuschia

To start i mixed  some of the tanzanite with the fuschia paint and then stencilled it onto my base 12x12 paper from the paper pad.

i then used a little more of the tanzanite with water added to activate it and splattered this onto my sheet, i also added some in powder form and then added a little water to activate.
i then dried my sheet.

i left it to dry properly and cut up some more of my papers into different sizes for layering and distressed the edges with my scissors.

i then did lots of fussy cutting, i  layered my background using foam pads to give it height and with my photo on the top and then layered my fussy cut elements, poking them under on each layers of the back ground.
i found the shine wooden word in my stash and using an embossing powder from my stash i embossed it 3 times to give more height and colour to the word.

lastly i covered my photo and did a little more splattering with my tanzanite.
