Dream-Mixed Media Layout

Dream.........
a mixed media layout of my youngest grandson Oscar.....

using the March kit from Louise at Thompsons craft supplies
if you haven't tried them you must, they are fab kits especially if you like adding a bit of mixed media to your layouts, and a great way of building your stash.....not that i need to build my stash....oh scrap that of course i do, EVERY CRAFTER needs to build their stash lol, thats another hobby in itself  isn't it ??!!

if you want to watch or scrap along with me please click the links to watch.
how to part 1      ..................     how to part 2

any way i have coloured some paste to make the background with a stencil, i wanted to keep the cream  colour from the base sheet

( i may just add a bit of colour to the title,
it looks a slightly different tone here and its bugging me lol)

i also brought in the bronze colour, which is metallic
so brings in that sheen too.

mdf elements, painted and then coloured with the bronze as well,
some old jigsaw pieces, mdf cogs.

flowers and a leaf punch.....scroll up and you can watch how it was done.

Watch how it was made...

Family Heart

A quick play time last night produced this,
its really hard to get the colours correct on photos but this is as near as i can get it.
sometimes its really nice to have a quick start and finish in one session, other times it can take a few days with drying etc, i have a layout sat on my table that has been ummmed and arrrred about for the past week....it will get there lol

this is probably closer to the colour in these two photos.
i have started with a rice paper, its a finnabair one, butterflies, flutterby or something or other!!
they are a great base to start with.
I've then added some texture with a stencil and paste.

very inky fingers again, sloshing it about is always fun!
ive used a piece of a box lid, stripped back to reveal the inside, much more interesting , then i have inked it along with some cheesecloth,
coloured the feather and mdf so it all ties together colour wise.

the flower has also been coloured with watered down ink and a blast with the heat gun, they do dry very quickly and pick up the colours very well, this is from pretty gets gritty, they come, white and natural coloured ready for you to colour yourself.

"family" coloured to match using a finnabair wax, a couple more little embellishments ,butterfly, small flowers, some gems and some bead paste here and there.
finally a splatter with some watered down ink, a lovely little finish in under an hour.

Mixed Media Clipboard

I have been working on a few designs for a guest designer spot i am in next month so cant show them yet but have finished them and needed something to work on,
when you are focused on one thing and everything else you wanted to do goes out of your head,
well that was where i was at and needed something so i had a play with a finnibair mold and a glue gun, very quick results, no waiting for things to dry!

although i do need to get to grips with the air bubbles, one right on the end of her nose lol but i'm not going to waste her faults and all lol

i love just playing and getting messy with the paints etc and i had great fun with the pretty gets gritty explosion powders.....there was explosions!!
i got covered lol

it doesnt really show off the colors very well, but i had to do this because nothing of the colours in the bottle relates to the colours you get!!

there is a lot of water goes into this sort of play, its a wonder it didn't fall apart there was that much water.
that contributes to the reason i end up so messy .

i also used a couple of the new finibair wax colours, they are so juicy and lovely to work with but you have to be careful not to overload your finger, i always rub it off again between my finger so as not to get a big blob.

after i finished with the wax i used one of the gorgeous starlight paints in gold just to add that finishing pop.
oh yes and you can see i have used a paste and stencil for the background testure.

Couple of littlies !!

I have been asked to be a guest designer for April (will tell you more about that soon) so i have been working on projects for that which i cant yet show.

so i have not been not doing anything as it were, i have been busy! but then i realized i had a couple of bits, couple of quickies that i hadn't shown.
so i thought i would show them now........

using the prima stamps, love dressing them in something different and just loved this paper from stampin up.

small canvas with some texture background.

a frame that came from a prima flower pack.
a mixture of flowers, wooden and card leaves, some pearl string beads, some stringy stuff

wich i looked like her and had that dress lol.

the second piece was of me, cause i never appear in anything and i remember being told a long time ago to make sure that i did, that it is lovely to do all of this for my family to remember but they need to remember me also but no one ever takes pictures of me so i have to do it myself!

just a small canvas.
texture back ground using paste, stencils and paint.

some cardstock leaves that i have die cut out then run through and embossing folder and the waxed,
some wooden leaves that have been waxed.
then some gorgeous acrylic flowers.

Be Brave.Be Kind, Be Curious- Scrapbook Layout

It is really handy when you have grandchildren that are so photogenic and when you have a daughter in law that has such good photography skills.

just love these photos of my grandson Oscar.
hes such a cheeky chappy.

i didn't want to overload this page as i don't normally scrap with more than one photo so to have 3 was a bit out of my comfort zone but these photo's are so great i didn't need or want to add too much more.

lots of playing with ink and water to create the background,
then a few paint splatters.

and then just a few embellishments and title.
seen as there wasn't a lot it took me longer than a page full of embellishments lol

Mixed Media -Scrapbook Layout

I just love this photo of Loki taken at Niall and Daisy's wedding last July.

I have been wanting to scrap it for ages and found the perfect coloured papers in the clockwise paper pad and using leftovers from the february kit from Thompsons craft supplies.

some fussy cutting from the paper pad, some metal cogs, butterfly and the birdy which i just love, a couple of silk flowers from a bunch i bought and some paper clay flowers.

the back ground in using a stencil and some paint for the honeycomb, a stencil and some paste for the white, the end of a pencil and some gold paint for the gold dots.

some chipboard swirls painted and added to the background. and a leftover piece of diamante ribbon from the kit and a wooden feather coloured with wax finabair rose gold.

and some splattering, you have to have a bit of splattering, i covered the photo for this, don't want a splatter on his nose !
