Love-Scrapbook layout

I really had fun creating this page,
my youngest grandson Oscar and photo from my very talented daughter in law Daisy and her photography skills.

it had to be colourful didn't it, but i had to tone it down a bit with the black.

firstly i used mixed media inks to create my colourful backdrop, then added the black splodges and thin lines using a set of stamps from stampin up.
i then added some stencil detail with gesso.

some colourful splatters finishes off the background, i then mounted my photo on some white cardstock , i coloured a second sheet and used this to punch out my stars, inked the edges in black and stuck them some flat and others with 3d foam.
lastly it was the LOVE title which is a die cut and double cut in black and white.

Beautiful-Scrapbook Layout.

Another page using the fab new papers from Piatek Trzynastego-When we first met, from Thompsons craft supplies.
just love these papers and fussy cutting.

excuse the light on the photos, i took the pictures outside as i just couldn't get the right light for them!

the colours in this paper range are amazing and the elements, great for fussy cutting and there are so many pieces to create many projects.

a simply page, cut and distressed some layers , papers from the pad, gave them some height using 3d foam pads.
i then arranged my photo and my fussy cut elements until i was happy and stuck them all down, some flat, some with 3d foam or 3d gel.

i then covered my photo and did some splattering, i love the splattering, it just brings it all together i feel and adds a lovely finish.
these papers are gorgeous.

As a member of the design team for Melissa at Simply Vintage Designs, i was, and i know everyone else in the team was very excited for todays airing on Hochanda,
Melissa took along all our journals and samples to help show off her fantastic vintage kits.

very exciting to see my design on screen.

Melissa was so inspiring, i cant wait for my journal to make its way back home so i can work some more on it.
take a look at the kits either on Hochanda or on simply vintage designs on facebook or the website.

Magical Day-Scrapbook Layout

Another from The Wedding last years, one on from the hand page, this is them lol.

using the Piatek Trzynastego-New Moon paper range from Thompsons craft supplies
love this paper range, it has lots of bugs, although the
bugs didn't fit in my wedding photo lol

for my background i scraped on some white gesso, just roughly in a diamond shape, let that dry and then used a stencils and used some black gesso, i cant tell you the stencil name, it is out of the ark, a lovely big 12x12 stencil.

I then added some gold sponging, the photo colours dictated that i needed to bring the gold in lol,
i painted a chipboard round/leaf shape in the black.
I sponged the magical day title with the gold, it was gold glitter so i had to tone it down a bit.

i coloured the flower using a mixed media ink, watered down and just rubbed the flower into it, let it dry then added a bit of gold paint, added my gold coloured metal leaves and finished with silver and gold paint splatters.

Love- scrapbook layout

Its my last post from my stint as guest designer for thompsons craft supplies,
i have been playing with the Time To Dream paper pad and ephemera, i have had great fun, its a lovely set, although it is Alice in wonderland themed you don't have to stay with that theme.

this is my Love layout from the set.

for my background i used stencils, silver and red paint,  white paste and then splattered with the silver and red.

i then cut some of the papers to different sizes so that i could layer them, i distressed the edges and lay them on to see how it was looking,
i mounted my photo and painted some chipboard shapes.
i cut out my title, it was a tag from one of the 12 x 12 sheets.

I then fussy cut some of the roses from one of the 12 x 12 sheets, i cut the same rose but in different places if that makes sense so that i could pile them up to make a 3D flower as you can see in these pictures.
i added a couple of other embellishments, butterfly, bird and some ribbon.
i lay it all on to see if i am happy with my positioning, i some times take a picture to look back on as i stick things down.

when everything is in place and stuck down i then covered my photo and splattered again, you don't want a splodge on the end of someones nose.

Mixed Media Canvas-White Rose

Since borrowing a serving spoon just like this for my sons wedding last July i have wanted to add it to a canvas, as tempting as it was is wasn't mine lol
but wondering round the car boot as i do most Sundays i can across this one, and a few more lol
well i had to didn't i?!?

At first i wasn't going to colour the spoon at all but it just didn't look right, i wanted to keep the metallic colourway though, and i think i managed it.

first off i covered my canvas with an embroidered voil using gesso as my glue, left it to dry then gesso's again.
this makes a fabulous background don't you agree?

then i glued on my spoon with 3d gel, its not going any where, but i did leave it to dry well before i started playing.

i then added all my metal  and acrylic embellishments, again leaving to dry well before i added any colour.
when it was all nice and dry and secure i went over it all with black gesso.
apart from the rose obviously.
time to play with colour, lots of silver, green and dark turquoise (cant think what else to call the colour) i layered it all gently with a brush, just keep going over until i like the colours.
lastly it was silver wax, like i said i wanted it to stay metallic.

then it was the rose, it has been gently coloured with silver, just so that it wasn't bright white, it just didn't go!!
attached with 3d gel, then i splattered with the dark turquoise, and onto the rose to bring it into the piece.
when i was working on it it was by lamp light at night and although i loved the colours then, when i was taking the photos in the daylight i was even more impressed with the colours.

very happy with the result.

You Are Awesome-Scrapbook Layout.

You Are Awesome
I just love this, and i love the colourways.

My grandson Loki, he is so photogenic with his huge
"who's is this hat anyway" hat !!
using AB studio papers from Louise at Thompson Craft supplies.

I stenciled the background with silver paint then with the black leaves,
distressed my layering papers and gently inked with black.

i painted my mdf frame black, sponged the title with silver paint (it was gold glitter)

made my "you are" part of the title as i just couldn't find any letters that went with the rest of the title.

i sponged my metal leaf and flower black, i was happy but not happy,
ummming and arrring...what else does it need, something black but what, stars, what with leaves.....oh yes with leaves, love it.

then it was cover the photo, we don't want a paint splatter on his nose, i splattered with the silver paint watered down.

3D Love-AB Studio

I found this lovely big chunky LOVE mdf at a village fete last year and was waiting for the right papers to use, just love the Enchanted Flowers collection from AB Studio, the colours are amazing, and i had just the right flowers to go with it.

I made a rough base out of cardboard, lots of paste for some texture.
i stuck my "love" on the back on my paper and cut round and then inked the edges, then using 3d gloss paste i stuck it to my card base.

i added lots of foliage and flowers,
i love decorating things up like this!
i had to lay it back a little while the gel set to stop it all sliding down to the base lol
didn't take long the gel soon sets.

i used the stems i had cut off the flowers to make some swirly ....well what to call then, sticky out bits lol ....and added them to my design.

i then had fun splattering my piece with some distress inks, i love the way it has spread on the flowers to merge the colours on the flowers, love it when the unexpected happens with great results.
