well what a fab Day i had with Louise and Kasia
plotting and planning, cuttin n stickin!!
we were planning a 2020 retreat, making samples of some of the fab new papers in the shop Thompsonscraftsupplies
spending time with fab friends and eating a gorgeous lunch, what more could you ask for.....oh to do it all again soon please!!
these are AB Studio Breeze of the Forest papers, absolutely gorgeous and the quality of these papers is amazing, just loved all the fussy cutting, and layering, one of my fave ways to craft.
started off on the book and i covered the front cover with one of the 12x12 sheets, sanded, inked and sanded again the edges and all over, then i coloured a heavy paste and stenciled some flowers which matched the papers perfectly.
i then went over with a clear gesso.
next was a lot of fussy cutting and picked where my design was going, top left corner and bottom right corner.
i decided on my layering, and then using something to give height to the elements, either folded card, lefteover mdf pieces, those that are left in the sheets or 3d foam pads, i layered up and stuck my pieces in place using 3d gel.
tucking bits behind, lots of overlapping.
then the splattering with watered down white gesso.
when it was all dry i coated it all with a layer of clear gesso to help protect in when in use.
The Gift box
it was the same principles for my box i cut my pieces to fit the tops and sides on my box, using some open scissors i distressed the edges, stuck them down , inked the edges and then covered with some clear gesso which dragged some of the ink into the main paper which gave a lovely effect.
i layered up with some cheesecloth first then the fussy cut elements.
i added my title then covered my title and splattered with watered down white gesso.
