journal.

So i decided to have a play around, 

just to see what would be the result, so this is made with a leather effect fabric and some rice paper, i was hoping for a soft effect but it is quite a solid piece, solid enough to have put these embellishments on it and they not come off.

i am very happy with the result even though it was not what i intended, so will have to play again to see if i can get the desired outcome .

firstly i covered the leather fabric with the rice paper using a 3D gel as the glue, probably my first mistake, need to find a different glue that doesn't dry hard.

at this stage i put it into the shape i wanted, although the cat did knock it off my desk in the night and i had to remold it into shape lol

i then went over it with a gloss. the rice paper didn't want to stick onto the fabric and took a little time to dry.

eventually when all was dry i added some embellishments, gesso'd the flowers and added some colour, some wax and paints.

and this is how it ended up, very happy ....but still want to try again to get the soft leather feel of a journal...watch this space.....now different glue mmmmm
