Today is Full of Possibilities- Round Canvas.

Today is Full of Possibilities- Round Canvas.

well i say round canvas but its not, its actually a place mat, you know one of those old shiny patterned place mats with felt on the back to protect the table, its the bigger one for your dinner plate (i also use the small coasters for your cups) this one had an embroidery flower design, not any more, its perfect, solid, no warping and a fab finish on the back i love using things like this, found them on the car boot, 3 of them for a £1, much cheaper than a canvas lol
i also found the mini candle stick on the car boot £1!!

i love my Sunday morning car boot hunt for alterable treasures.

i stared with the base gesso and added some texture, stencil and heavy paste, glass glitter and paste mix and some gritty paste.

when all that was dry i added my center arrangement , mdf frame and cogs and some wooden sticks then my candle stick all glued on with 3d gel, i then had to be patient and let it dry and stick well, i did pick it up once and my candle stick fell off, needed to be patient for longer lol !!

the next day when all was stuck well, i added my back ground colour, i love playing with the colour, inking and drying then inking some more, when happy i then started with my flowers, they were a lighter pink to start with but it was just not right so out came the spray ink and then i was happy.

i then got my flower box out its full of all sorts of bits not just the flowers but the pearls on stalks and other random little bits i can poke in here and there it all adds to the touchy feelyness of it all (yes i make up words as i go along too lol)

then i added some wax, silver was a favourite for this one with a bit of red and purple added too,

lastly it was some splattering on this i used silver and red and then added my title.

Hey Dude-Scrapbook Layout

Hey Dude-Rock that Hat

I love playing with inks on a blank canvas and Oscar is always a good candidate for playing with colour for his photos, i put it down to his photographer mum and her amazing skills.

no patterned paper just ink, paste, stencils, stamps, alphas and some wooden stars.

firstly i clear gesso'd the white card stock, when that was dry and i had flattened the 12 x 12 as best i could i played with the yellow ink and some water moving it around and testing to see the size for my photos.

i then drew my frame using a ruler and a journalling pen.

i added some paste using a couple of stencils and the small stars using distress ink through a stencil.

i placed my photos on to decide where they were going and then just moved them slightly to be able to stamp my images just going under the photos, i used a stampin up washi tape stamp for this.

i also stamped the ink splodges using a stampin up stamp and distres sink

i stuck my photos down using 3d foam pads to get the height but when it is on the inks and gesso/paste i also add a bit of 3d foam gel  onto the pads as they don't stay stuck lol

for my title i used foam letters for the hey dud stuck onto card and then cut round and framed with my journal pen
the others are wooden painted white.

i added some white wooden stars here and there then i covered my photos and splattered with black watered down gesso to finish off.

Art Journal Entry

So i have an entry in my new, Old book art journal,
i don't have a theme for this journal, just whatever happens happens!
and this is the first, this happened !!!

using impasto paint, stencils and acetate.

firstly i clear gesso'd my pages and let it dry then i played with the stencils and the paint.
i fussy cut out my acetate pieces , the butterflies are shaped so not flat to the page, hard to see in the photo.
i then did some light splattering and added my title.
lastly i added the black dots using black gesso and the end of a small paint brush.

Art Journal

So....i have been having real trouble , i wanted to create a sort of art/junk....anything goes type of  journal using an old book.....my trouble is i just love books, old or new, so i keep buying books but then go, oh no i cant start painting on it!
yesterday was 3 books an old map book and two other random little books, the map book i decided was too good, although it was that one i intended to use lol,
so i had to go with another....it is about A6 in size, i had to find one that i didn't like the subject inside, which this was something really of non interest....i cant even remember what it was lol and this is the result, well the cover anyway.

oh it turns out it was a never heard of play !!
i covered it in a rice paper to start with then added some texture with some paste and stencils.
i then added some colours with inks, i painted my mdf elements and stuck them on with 3d gel.

then it was more colour and then my flowers and lastly some splattering and some wax.

we shall see what happens inside!!

Acrylic Tag- Make a Wish

I just love playing with  acrylic bases and these ones are great from .Thompsons craft supplies, really sturdy and great to use.

i also used, some alcohol inks, rubber stamp and white acrylic paint, leaf stamp and die cutter, distress inks, cheese cloth, wooden butterfly and a pretty gets gritty flower.

i started by taking off the protective cover one one side and dropping some ...oh what is it called the liquid with the distress....blender !! all over the block, covering it, then i dropped different colours of the ink on and moved it around a bit with my fingers and by tilting it.
when happy i gave it a minute to dry....it doesn't take long at all.

i then took the cover from the other side and turned it over and then using some watered down acrylic paint and a stamp, stamped the white images on the other side. a quick blast with the heat gun!!

i sprayed my flower and butterfly with distress ink and hand stamped my leaves and cut them out then coloured them with distress ink.

i added a little cheese cloth, chose my title and placed it all on, when happy i stuck it all down with 3dgel..
lastly a little splattering to finish it off, a fun a quick little project but very beautiful i think.

Gift Box and Tag

Using AB Studio, somewhere over the rainbow papers from thompsons craft supplies

lovely fresh papers full of hearts and butterflies to fussy cut.
a lovely gift box to add a special gift or some chocolates just because!

i cut out some of the papers to use for the back ground and distressed the edges with my craft knife.

then i layered some cheesecloth and then all my fussy cut elements onto my box and gift tag using 3d foam pads and 3d gel to gift it a bit of height,

hand stamped my sentiment, bordered it with a journalling pen and then inked the edges.

i added some ribbon and tulle to the tag and the closure of the gift box.

lastly i splattered with a watered down white acrylic paint.

love the result and a perfect gift box.

Mixed Media tag-Be Authentic

Ive not been feeling it this past couple of weeks, dont know why but my mojo has gone on holiday, wish i was on holiday, maybe that is the problem!

anyway i have been doing little bits trying to entice it back....i'm happy with this tag using the AB Studio Diary paper range from Thompsons craft supplies, was so excited to get this range and to play with it but with my lack of mojo i just dont know what to do so i thought just start with a tag to try and get the ball rolling

also using the Tim Holtz people chipboard, some old prima flowers that came to the surface when i did my scrap room move and the Tim Holtz acetate butterfly plus some lace from Louises lace grab bag.

i started with painting my tag with gesso and then some heavy body paste and a stencil, then i added some mixed media ink, fuschia, magenta and red, a bit of water and moved the ink around.

when dry i layered my papers some old cardboard, lace, some fussy cut flowers, the old prima flowers, i added my little girls and the paper rose, i found my title and then covered my girls so they didn't end up with ink on their faces ad splattered with some pink paint.
