Oooh i love playing with ink and paints
and i love altering things!!
so i had great fun playing with this not working alarm clock i found on the car boot sale.
I took the glass off and removed the plastic number disc and replaced with some chipboard numbers, by removing the number disc it uncovered all the workings of the clock which is just great.
I painted it all in white gesso and added some texture using glass glitter mixed in the gesso, i needed lots of drying time with this even though i did help it along a bit with the heat gun but still had to be patient.
once the base coat was all dry i added my flowers and other embellishments using 3d gel as my glue again having to be patient for it to dry and to hold everything in place, some of the outer flowers had to be really glued well before i could carry on.
once it was all stuck in place i went over all the embellishments with white gesso and when dry i added a layer of white paint and when that was all dry (patients is a must lol) i started playing with the spray inks, just carried on adding the ink , then the water and moving it around a bit then drying between each colour.
just keep going until you are happy with the colours.
when i was happy with my colours i left to dry overnight as the water has made all my gesso and paint a bit soft again so before i add some wax it needs to be nice and dry and hard again.
then i like to add the wax , this time a silver but my silver has dried up so i need to try to revive it so instead i used a silver metallic paint just as i would a wax using my finger or a paint brush to get into the hard to reach spaces, just very gently and being careful not to overload with the paint.
