Sew-It is moving on slowly and i am now stocking fabrics (along with other haberdashery items)

and this week has seen several bolts arriving...with more to follow very soon.

Doll Quilt exchange

Well both quilts have arrived, and i have to say in quick time too, mine posted out on saturday arrived on wednesday all the way across the pond, so if it can get that far so quickly why does post in this country take so long??

any way i digress!!

Doll Quilt

i joined a group last month called doll quilters, it is an exchange group where you make a small quilt and exchange it with someone, i thought it would be a good way of making me make something, not that thats hard but to do something a little different than usual, so this month was "love" of course and after a few changes in ideas i eventualy finished my little quilt i cant show you completely as its not been received yet, its winging its way across thwe pond, as soon as it lands i will show you but here is a sneaky peak....

Sewing in Barrow

Saturday saw me in Barrow taking a workshop of ladies with the sewing bug, 

they were all making the messenger bag....and boy did they do well, i missed the chance to get an all finished photo as they were all finishing and leaving at different times but all the finishes were fantastic and i did hear some, "i'm making that again" going on lol

a lovely spacious room with food on tap...a great day, 

thank you ladies.

Sewing Time and News

 So all that rain on sunday stopped us doing the usual wonder round carboot then brekkie out etc etc, although i did go out for a bit i had time to play and get some sewing done, 

this was the result, 

quite happy with my efforts, just loving the colours on these fabrics!!

this will be a workshop at craftydaze in march ....keep reading for the news.....

 

and that leads neatly onto my NEWS,

 for a couple of years now i have been wanting to reduce my hours at work and do a few more workshops, although i do manage to get a couple in each month at the shop i just cant fit in the amount people want without being out both days at the weekend leaving no time for me or family, everytime i have geared my self up to do it illness has prevented me.....

 SSSOOO touch wood nothing else will go wrong with my health,

 i am now pain free and feeling so much better (although some what tired at times lol)

SO ITS TIME.........

as of the begginning of March SEW-IT will be @craftydaze EVERY TUESDAY, (as well as my weekends- nothing will change there)

so lots more new workshops to come, please call back to see whats going on and if you fancy coming and joining in the fun just yell.

O M Word- i Hadn't realised........

It had been that long since i have posted!!!!

well what can i tell you

we have had Jake's 5th birthday, where has the time gone, hes growing up so fast, 

please slow down i don't want to miss a thing!!

what else.....................oh yes the first Sew-it sewing club started on jan the 4th

9 lovely ladies came along and had a fab day on their sewing machines

 

this week i have had 3 classes doing the boys toys scrap page and then on sunday we had the owl bag workshop

so thats been it in a nut shell, 

apart from Mia Moo, just wanted to add her in the post, 

Mia who is growing fast and such a  madam lol

right i really must try and post more often and keep up with the goings on

we are off to Harlow on saturday for jamies 21st birthday party,  (Caras boyfriend)

actualy his birthday today

Down hill Dash

The event where mad me and women make there own carts and do time trials down the hill outside our house....mad i tell you MAD.......

but all in the aid of Macmillan, 

in wheel chairs, park benches and wheely bins thay race!!!

they are hoping that this year they will have smashed the £10,000 barrier, 

well done guys but i still think your MAD

Best of Friends

Two workshops this week and this is what we did, 

the "Best of Friends" page, 

A realy simple page but i just love it, two versions just the back ground paper different but even thats gives a different result

(the light was terrible when i took these pictures, i hate winter for that just cant get a good pic)

WI christmas party

Wow where is the time going, 

it was my WI christmas party on wednesday , 

lots of food to nibble on, wine and merriment

plus a couple of quizzes to keep us entertained and comps too, this time it was a card competition and a mince pie comp, i couldnt enter the card comp as i was judge but i could enter the mince pie comp, it was to produce 3 mince pies on a plate....

here is one of my mince pies...mmmm.....cause after the tasting by the judges i ate the other one lol

so imagine this times 3!!

there were 16 entries ....and i was in the top 4 WOOHOO ,

 i say top 4 because they tasted all 16 (hard work i'm sure lol) they got it down to 4 possibles then they picked winner and runner up......so i was in the top 4.....pretty happy with that lol

WI Crafty Christmas Fair

Yesterday, was our WI's (to which i am treasurer) annual crafty christmas fair , 

crafty because we have hands on crafting, 

so craft stalls for you to buy pressies and crafting for you to sit and have a play, 

of course there are the refreshments with soup for lunch, tea ,coffee and cake

(of course cake, after all it is the WI)

we haven't had the final tally yet but we think we raised about £300 after expenses

so a great day all round,

in out new venue we had another great day with lots of laughs and a guest appearance from  jo's rabbit!

it was a lovely day and i managed to make something , 

that doesn't often happen

after finding this fabrics in Lincoln on Saturday i knew exactly what i wanted to do with it, and this is the result........

Sewing Retreat....fantastic!!

I have been waiting a year for this and this weekend just gone i went off with 7 other ladies to a converted barn in the middle of no where, (phone signal was non existent) for a sewing retreat, 

normaly on these occasions not a lot is produced but feeding off everyone else we were all very productive, and this is my collection of makes

 

oh my what a fantastic weekend, great company, great food, the start of some new friendships and a continuation of others, some of the ladies i havent seen in about 4 years (as we tried to work it out lol)

on the way it was chucking it down and bloomin cold but the sun did come out each day after a frosty start not that it mattered i only stepped outside once to take the rubbish to the bin lol.

what a fantastic weekend, thank you kirsty and the rest for a fab time.

cant wait for the next time.
