Fields of Flowers-Scrapbook Layout.

Fields of Flowers-Scrapbook layout.

using some more from the February kit from Thompsons craft Supplies, love this kit.
lots of fussy cutting which i am quite happy to do, quite therapeutic.

you can just see the gold from the finabair metallic paint on the leaf and the honey comb at the top the paint was in the kit along with the rose gold wax which is on the wooden leaves and the black leaves on the right hand side.

i made my own stencil for this page, cutting out the leaves (on the right) and using the waste as my stencil, if using paint as i did you need to cut a couple of they don't last long when made of card, the paint soon soaks through or slides underneath so be careful.

i also used a honeycomb stencil and the gold paint.

places all my fussy cut flowers and feathers, i really do love this paper range.

my photo has a small black border just so it doesn't get lost on the page
as the tones are very similar.

the fields of flowers title is actually the name of the paper and printed on the cut of border strip, waste not want not lol
i finished with some splatters using a metallic paint, i covered the photo for this as you don't want a paint splodge on the end of someones nose lol

loving this range i may have to buy more !!!

Life is Good-Scrapbook

I had Great fun making this page, the only time i have the whole gang together was at Niall and Daisy's wedding last year.
it was a fantastic day in that heat of last years summer and we have some fantastic photos and video's to remember the day.
i remember it very well and the run up to it and the clear down from it,  hard work ....5 days of bloody hard work lol

so a mixed media background with fabrico metallic paint, paste through a home made stencil ( well the leftovers from a die cut  from a previous project) lots of splattering

lots of drying time was needed as the leaves and butterfly were quite thick

i love the way the butterfly and leaves have taken on the colour from the splatters underneath, not intentional but i like it.

i backed the good (from the life is good title) with the blue so it wasn't so lost!

loved the colours from the wild orchid cardstock pieces pack that i used,
i then added some prima flowers

Mixed Media Heart

A Birdy heart, and of course flowers......
with the added detail of a heart cut out in the centre, it makes a lovely detail.

and my fave colours too.

i used paper clay for my bird, frame and flowers and have added some metal leaves too , the butterfly is the left overs from another project.

i stenciled the base and also added some embroidered fabric,
which adds a lovely detail to the project.

no paint involved this time, instead its ink, which ,makes even more of a mess on my hands and doesn't wash off straight away.....never mind lol

once everything is in place using a paste to secure and all dry i have gesso's all over in white, dried it all then i have started with the ink and water spray bottle, just keep adding and drying until you have what you want.

then its the trusted wax, this just finishes a project off, picking up the fine detail, love this stuff, this one is the rose gold from finabair

I Wanna Be a Unicorn

Especially if it is as beautiful as this one, this is the frame from the Thompsons craft supplies February mixed media kit, it was a bit smaller than expected so couldn't do what i originally had planned but had a plan B straight away, as was eager to use my unicorn!

it is always really hard to get the colours true in a photo, there is a bit of a plummy tinge going on as well but i just cant pick that up in these photos!!

i love the imagination metallic paints and tend to go round and round for ages gently adding paint until it is just right, it can take some time lol

adding the gold last to add the finishing high light of sparkle

with gesso on the frame for some texture, some die cut leaves on the base, black gesso all over, black is a great base colour for these metallic paints. then lots of paper clay leaves and flowers and the odd acrylic flower in there too.

just love it !!

Paint Brush Canvas

I do have this habit of wondering round with one eye on anything that i can use for my crafting,
an old paint brush that had gone hard has been in my drawer waiting for a while so this week i have been playing with that.....

no real plan when i start, i just play around and see what happens, what i feel works and what doesn't
this has metal elements, and lots of paper clay.

the chain round the handle of the brush is what was left from the elephant necklace
that i used on an earlier canvas, never throw anything away, i think it fits very well for this project.

lots of playing with paint, it had an orange background
then i added purple, red, gold and black

Simply Vintage Design Team Makes.

I am lucky enough to be on the Simply Vintage Designs Design Team....it means i get to play with things i don't normally play with, things i don't normally think about.

find them here....Simply Vintage Designs  or see them on Hochanda february 26th 10am

i have had great fun playing and here are some of the things i have come up with.

just loved these travel themed pieces, some ticket stubs, stamps , postcard and map, just had to be a travel board, i found a little bulldog clip and aged it with gesso, paint and wax, a small canvas board that has been inked, stamped and aged, add a little distress ink to the map and postcard, you could also add a photo to remind you of a favorite trip and you have a lovely little keepsake.

a couple of sheets from  a music book make a lovely gift bag, just a bit of folding and gluing, i added the rose stamp to add a bit of interest and then  the string to close it.

a tin can...oh so much you can do with these but i make a vase, i had two sheets from an old book, i decoupaged one of the sheets, ripped it up and glued it on randomly saving the title as i think it fitted well with what i was doing.
with the other sheet i made some spiral flowers, a very simple and easy but very effective way of making home made flowers a bit of ink and a pearl centre, inked all over the whole tin and then added a distressed butterfly to finish off.

Amazing Life-Mixed Media Layout

Another wooden layout, love working like this and doing things a bit different,
using some of the elements from the
Thompsons craft supplies mixed media kit

still working on the fab photos that were taken on the autumn photo shoot we did, we got lots of great pics so i may be some time, plus its my fave time, colour ways anyway lol

just trying to pick up the glisten in the wax, which is the finabair wax gold rose that came in the kit, its gorgeous and i cant quite get that across in these photos !!

lots of fussy cutting going on which i actually enjoy doing, and witha tone of elements left for more projects.

gesso mixed with a gold paint and a stencil makes the background and then adding some pearl beads and some of the rose gold wax.
rose gold wax on the wooden leaves, couple of pieces of some pearl string i had laying on my desk goes well in the mix

very happy with my Sunday evening play time while watching netflix.
