With Brave Wings, Mixed Media Birdhouse

With Brave Wings She Flies.
this is from my latest Dt kit from Louise at Thompson craft supplies
loved playing with this and getting all mucky with the paint and waxes.

you really cant see the colours too well in these photos i tried 3 different locations to take photos but they just aren't showing very well at all.
it has a purple and red background then dry brushed with gold and red waxes.

for this i used the .....

i also used a paste, leaf stencil, some glass bead texture gel, red and purple imagination craft paints, red and gold wax and other randomness that i found i my stash.
i used some gel medium as my glue.

firstly i used my leaf mould and paste to add the decoration to the main bird house,
i then added some extras to my birdhouse, the apex roof is some waste mdf from other items i have just cut them to shape and used a wood mould and paste on them, packed underneath with some more waste mdf to give them a more 3D affect off the birdhouse.

i then added my top....pointy thing on the apex roof......whatever you call it !! cant think lol
i painted my background with the black gesso and then added my embellishments and some glass bead texture gel here and there and let it all dry hard.

i then painted the whole thing with the black gesso

when it was all nice and dry i dry brushed with my purple and red imagination craft paints and then with my red and gold waxes, keep going back with the different colours until you are happy with the result.
lastly i added my title.
the paint brush wa going to be a sign post for a longer title but i really didn't like covering the butterflies and flowers on the stem, so i changed it, cause i can lol.

Mug and Lunch Bags

Mug and Lunch bag

Had a lovely few hours sewing these up, a lovely mug bag, to hold your mug when going out for a crafty day, even more important in the situation we are in at the moment, it has room to take along a little something else too, packet of biscuits or a sandwich.
if you need to take more there is the lunch bag, this will hold your lunch box and a few bits more.
loving this fabric, its funny how it changes when you make something with it,
i liked the fabric on the bolt but i LOVE the fabric now its been made up into something.

both available as kits with full written and photo instructions.
see here.... lets sew it

Mixed Media Canvas

I was feeling a bit meh yesterday,
just couldn't get into any sort of mood to do anything, crafty or otherwise, wanted to create but it wasn't coming, i got as far as adding the string , some paste through a stencil and hessian to this canvas and that was it, full stop.
so i asked Louise to give me some prompts, she did this before for me and it worked great.....so Louise said......
Lady-brown/pink-leaves and wood

so this is what i came up with....
some twigs on the left hand side, on top of my hessian and string!
then i layered up some cogs, a huge leaf and some smaller ones, a clock face and a feather all in mdf.

i gesso'd it then painted it all brown, added some pink mixed media ink and water to get it all moving around, after some messing and lots of drying i was happy with the colours, i then added some dry brushed bronze paint.
then my picture, girl rather than lady but lets not be picky lol
and some brown flowers.
finished off with some watered down bronze paint splatters.

its a lot brighter IRL but i just cant get the colours to show up well in these photos!!!
