Lovely jubely books!!

I just had to do it, i couldn't resist these books and their gorgeous projects, i couldn't resist so much i went back and ordered some more, cant wait for the posty to come this week ,

they suggest using towelling and linen for some of the projects so on Saturday one of the nearby villages was having a jumble sale, off i went, boy do you have to be quick in those places and have Sharpe elbows or you get eaten alive but i can say i did find some new towels just the perfect colours too and some linen trousers which will soom be a stuffed animal of some sort lol

all i need now is some animal stuffing and i am away... watch this space.

Teddy bear, teddy bear.......

so i wanted to make some little fabric teddy bears, just simple and quick, my first attempt was the little one, which my dh decided looks liked a hammer head, how cruel, so i adjusted the shaping a little and tried again, was not the happiest with the results but you know what with a little more tweaking i may have it but, these 2 little fellows are growing on me, they are standing on my cupboard with lots of other stitched/hand made goodies and yesterday as i walked past they caught my eye and you know what i am rather liking them...poor little hammer head...its ok, i like you x

and while we are on the subject of liking thengs can i show you an item my daughter bought me for christmas, this gorgeous little mirror, i am loving it........(think the glass needs a clean looking at that pic lol)

The weather was fine all be it a bit windy (bit being an understatement lol) so we managed our first meeting of the year (last january we were snowed in) it was a great day as always, here are a few pics for you........

Jakey's birthday

So where has the last week gone, it seemed to take a while to get here but its over in a flash,

Christmas that is!

but just before we had jakey's birthday, i cant believe our little man is 3 already,

where has that time gone?

jakey had a dino cake, i was going to get a lovely one made and they are gorgeous but then i thought why make such a great cake and then 5 minutes later cut it up and have nothing left of it so instead i got some toy Dinos and decorated a cake with them, best of both worlds, a cake and some toys to keep, he loves his dinos so i am happy with that,lots more candles that he should have had for his 3 years but he wanted more!

and of course as with all presents the box is the best bit, he was playing at being a robot with it lol

and then we were quickly into christmas, i did manage a couple of pics of mia before the big day, but jake was a wirlwind of excitement so only managed a few blurred images lol

so a quiet boxing day for us, well we have the littlies here but jake is having a quiet hour upstairs in my bed watching a dvd and mia is snoozing on the sofa....so quiet for a few minutes anyway

Well it was the Scout Hut Crafters christmas party on sunday, we had such a good day as we always do, we decided to provide lunch for ourselves with everyone bringing in a dish of something, boy did we have a fantastic spread, we were eating all day but managed to clear most of it lol

i did take a few pics but with not my usual camera and not knowing how it works i didnt get too many good ones, (phew i hear you mutter) not to worry i did get a few, here is a rare one of jo and myself, and both smiling lol

we had our usual secret santa which was fab, look at all the exchanged goodies.....

this is what i received from lucy, absolutley spot on, i love it all thanks you lucy x

a close up of the tin i stitched the top and mounted it, and lined the tin with a padded base and inside the lid, rather wanted to keep it for myself lol

My birthday....

I had a great birthday,
went to work as usual but then off we went straight to Droitwich to spend the night an jackies house, we went out for a gorgeous carvery ....with pudding.......,
it was so great to see them after i think a year, and we had a great evening

they surprised me with a gorgeous choccie birthday cake, although after pudding none of us could eat it!

thanks girls and thanks jackie and dave for being the perfect hosts x

we left jackies sunday morning and went off to have a wonder round Stratford upon Avon to do a little bit of christmas shopping,

and of course we had to call in to our fave little tea shop and partake in their gorgeous warm scones with jam and cream, which i have to say were better than ever

We had a great sunday at the Scout Hut,
totaly forgot to even get my camera out of my bag let alone take any pics lol

at the scout hut on sunday Kerry had a gorgeous pear pin cushion,
it was realy taken with it so had to do my own and here it is, i am realy pleased with it and i'm sure there will be more lol

Get together in Derby

Well i am shattered after the Derby get together yesterday didnt get home till 9.45ish last night, just fell into bed with jakey boy who was snoring his head off by then!
had a fab day though, with big thanks to Rachael for organising it,
and thanks to Polly for taking me and thanks to Wendy for making me cry!!

and we managed a couple of nice photos too thanks to Ann for these,
and look Wendy is smiling,
i have a million more with wendy hiding lol

we had a great time laughing and stitching, i was working on my hexagon Mia quilt,
got a couple of rows done,
we then went off to the Toby carvery and had a lovely turkey meal AND a pudding, naughty naughty!!
then it was back to Rachaels for coffee, thanks Andy for the coffees,

so today we get to do it all again, this time its the Scout Hut Crafters day,
so i will be back later with more pics of the motley crew.

Bonfire night.......

We took the littlies to an arranged bonfire and firworks display last night , something we dont normaly do, we normaly have a few firworks in the garden but after seeing the notice in a neighborouring village for £5 a family, well couldnt be cheaper so off we went and had to have a lovely burger too, well you have to dont you!!
after taking a million and one pics trying to get the occasion, i came up with these, i love the colour glow from the fire, which was huge and very warm lol
Jakey loved the fire to start with but soon got bored and went off to watch people with sparklers, Mia was mesmerised by the fire and couldnt take her eyes off it!

then the fireworks began, jakey wasnt quite so impressed with these as they were too noisey for him but he did enjoy them and i think loved the journey home the best seeing all the fireworks going off from the safety of the car lol

Very sad........

At the minute our house is feeling very sad, and it has taken me a week to write this post, last friday, and very unexpected we lost our friend and family member Baldrick, he was just 9 years old and such a character, he was part of the family and had been with us since he was 10 weeks old, he had been having arthritus problems for a little while but had become very poorly last thursday during the night, at first thinking it was his legs again after having a bad time a month ago , it soon became clear this was something much more serious, arriving at the vets upon opening, it was clear it was bad and an hour later we were told he had a massive tumour and wouldnt survive surgery it was such a shock and just blew us all away, we had to let him go with very heavy hearts but with us all around him, we said goodbye
he has left a gaping hole and after not knowing how to tell our grandson jake , his mummy did a great job and after arriving home on saturday afternoon the first time seeing jake since we lost baldrick, jake took my by the hand, took me to where baldricks bed should have been and told me that we wouldnt be seeing baldrick again because he was fast fast asleep
what more can i say
not a lot because i am having trouble typing through the tears

Crafty weekend makes....

I have just realised that i didn't show you what i made and received on the crafty weekend, i was very busy, probably the most productive weekend i have had for a long time that was all for me, well not probably but definitely!!

we made the gorgeous star cushion first, really enjoyed making this, so much so that i went on to make another one as a pin cushion along with another pin cushion just because i could!

i want to make one of all my scappy bits of fabric, i knew there was a reason why i saved all my tiddy little bits of fabric, at just 2.5" square i can get loads together, thats the hoarder in me!

then it was onto boxes, now knowing how much i love boxes and tins of any sort its no wonder i ended up making 3 of these

we then had the exchange where i received this gorgeous necklace and bracelet from one of our wonderful beaders Sue (workshop from them (Sue and Annie) during the march weekend)

and to finish off i won this gorgeous little beaded bell in the raffle

Conker picking.......

It was a week or so ago now but on the last lovely Sunday i had off and chance to spend with the littlies, the weather was gorgeous so off we went Jake, baby Mia and myself off round the village in search or conkers, we were gone for a bit longer than i had intended but it was lovely, jake finding all the conkers, kept him so busy for a good couple of hours and the pushchair was full lol, he kept saying "i'm not finished yet" and in the end when we were starting to lose the light he said "ok i'm finished now, shall we go home?"

its amazing how the little things are so wonderfull

and here's our little Mia, the smiles are coming now, you just have to be so quick with the camera to catch them

Crafty weekend

Well another crafty weekend has been and gone and another fab time was had by all,

and i have to say a very productive one, we made star cushions and fabric covered boxes as workshops, so over the weekend i made 1 large star cushion and 1 small star cushion a pin cushion and 3 fabric covered boxes,

as well as catering for a dozen people or more over the weekend with two choices of meals on the menu each day, no wonder i came home on sunday evening shattered but very happy lol

The littlies.......

Just a few pics of the little people in our lives, i am very busy at the minute and have been feeling like i am missing out on the littlies although trying to fit them in at every opportunity, cant wait to have a sunday off to spend the day with them, here is Jakey on sunday at the foxton locks show having ride on the mini double decker bus, just look at that hat lol

and here is Mia at 6 weeks old, where has the time gone, 6 weeks already, she is doing fine and gaining weight rapidly, she had her 6 week check up this morning and from a birth weight of 10lb 12oz she is now 12lb 12oz, the doc said he was going to ask how she was feeding but no need to after seeing that weight lol

Its the 1st September already oh my where has the summer gone, where has it been? because it hasn't been here! i have been waiting for it, but it didn't come! its the coolest summer since 1993!

i am not looking forward to winter, i have bad memories of last winter, i was ill for most of it and i really don't want to go there again....think positive lol i will be fine!

so onto other things,

we are in a busy month without a day off until October, we have the usual markets, craft fairs, scout hut crops and nec trade shows to keep us busy

but i am determined to get a little stitching in to keep me sane and give me an hour here and there to relax

I am desperate to do some scrap booking but it really isn't there, i have subscribed to a kit a month and have now received 4, i have been shopping a couple of time for supplies, i have a new grand baby to scrap, as well as jakey, but its still not coming....

so this morning i have been shopping again and had a good look at the samples around the shop and was chatting to the ladies lots and i think it may be stirring in the background, ever so slightly, come on scrapping bug, come back to me!!!
here's my stash from this mornings shopping trip,and i am off soon to spend the afternoon with Mia, the first time i will have seen her properly since she was born, so i have new batteries in my camera for the occasion.

It was only waiting for its binding so yesterday afternoon i finished off Mias quilt just in time for her coming home, i am very happy with it as was her mummy and daddy, and realy pleased with my shaped edge.

sorry about pic quality, it wouldnt stop raining so i was under the tree lolit has my usual free hand machine quilting, that normally makes it in there somewhere, i do enjoy doing that!

couldnt resist the many fabulous fabrics i saw today and if it wasnt for DH texting me on how long i was taking i would have been much longer and spent much much more money,
so a good thing realy,
but i did buy lots.....
halloween fabrics for some projects i have in mindfabric for a custom quilt i need to make , fabric for two custom cushions i have on order, plus lots more, and i just realised i have missed some of it off the pics

so lots to keep me busy....
maybe it was a good job he dragged me out of the shop!

Busy Sunday.....

We had a great day yesterday, firstly Alex and i went off to one of the local car boot sales and came away with some great bargain, a few items of clothing and two great bargains for my soon to be Victorian themed bed room!

let me tell you how it came about.....
we took our jakey off to the seaside last Sunday and while there visited a very crammed antique shop and bought a new bed frame, it is a black and gold metal bed frame in a Victorian style, my bedroom is in great need of a decorate and as i love anything Victorian i decided that this is the way to go with the bedroom, starting with the bed, i am going to make throws, bolsters and cushions, the walls are going to be just a plane colour and i am going to bring in the colour with the fabrics, while at the carboot i found a brand new pair of curtains, fully lined and just the perfect colourways, in deep red, browns and gold,£4
i then found a piece of fabric about 2m again perfect for the victorian theme,
deep reds, brown and green, perfect for some cushions and maybe to cover a foot stool and blanket box i have!£3
we then went off to pick the bed frame up and have a better look around the antique shop
(we couldnt with jake and his little fingers last week)
and this is what i came away with.....
i am now on the lookout for a victorian wash stand or dressing table, a fireplace, and lots of little bits a pieces, an oil lamp, more fabrics etc etc, this is so going to be fun lol

anyway after being off line since last Thursday,phone line bought down by a crane apparently! i am now back on, feel lost without my pc, but its all working fine again now
i have at last taken part in a couple of exchanges recently, firstly a christmas in july on exchange heaven, which i received this gorgeous little fellow from Maddy, isnt he cute, i cant show you what i have made until i hear it has arrived safely,
i have also taken part in an exchange on Michelles blog its a Black Bird Designs exchange, i am also waiting for mine to arrive in its new home then i will show you, and waiting very excited for mine to arrive...oh oh cant wait!!
the quilts for Mia are happening oh so slowly, just dont know where the time goes,
4 weeks and counting until baby Mia arrives, getting excited now, and we are all thinking she will be arriving early so realy must get my finger out and get them finished,

Carboot find!

As you know i love to wonder round Carboot sales of a sunday when not busy and this week i found two lovely bargains, the first was an ikea cot, which looks brand new, not a mark on it, worth over £100 so Amee informs me, £5 BARGAIN , so chuffed with that and then i also found this cake stand, love it and only £1.50 so i just had to......

i also want to show you the working on my Hexagon quilt for Mia, its growing slowly but surely, i am realy liking it too,
I dont normaly like having more than one project on the go but at the moment i have 4! my own hehagon quilt which is also growing steadily, not going to show you a pic cause it looks the same as last time just the piles of flowers are bigger lol, not ready to put it together yet still working on the flowers then i have some diamonds to work on for infills cant wait to get the the actual final construction but i must be patient lol
i am working on a second quilt for Mia, (one for my house one for Amees house), it is a squared quilt which will have freehand quilting...possibly , not quite decided yet lol
the last project is a crochet blanket which is going to be a mishmash of different!! cant realy say what cause i am changing it as i go along so we will see how it ends up lol
so busy busy as always ,
these are among all the wood-n-stitches projects i am working on too, aprons, quilts and bags are in the mix at the minute!!

But buy lots of scrummy fabric, it was calling to me, but i do have plans for it all, along with the wool that i bought on saturday for another baby Mia project!

so in this little lot, there is fabric for a bed set for jake, a quilt for mia, a quilt for me, two halloween quilts, one for jake and one for me, cause i just love halloween, a sun dress, or 2, or 3 for baby Mia, when i work out a pattern that is, got a picture in my mind of what i want, just need to get it to fabric lolMy hexagon quilt is coming along lovely, i think i have worked out the pattern it will finish in, of course that is subject to change when i come to laying it out but i think i have it lol
so where are all those extra hours in the day that i be needing?

I have been having some me time this week, firstly playing with hexagons and lots of hand stitching which i am realy enjoying, and nice to be working on something that will take me some time instead of the got to get it done that i am normaly doing, so i can pick it up and put it down when i feel like it

i am also working on a couple of exchanges, first one is a christmas in july exchange which i am making an ornie so cant show too much of that one yet lol but great to be having some stitch time as well

No i couldn't resist a little retail therapy of the fabric variety lol, i

need to reline the baby cradle in readiness for little Mia's arrival so off i went and found this little lot, cant decide quite how to do this, i am thinking of making cot bed sized quilt with these fabrics and with the leftovers lining the little cradle and then crocheting a blanket for the cradle, i remember jake being in the cradle for a short time and for Mia it will be summer so don't think she will be needing a big quilt and by the time we get to winter she will be moving into a cot anyway....well those are my thoughts, may change along the way lol

then i also bought this little lot, i intend on making a hexagon quilt with these, hand sewing the hexagons centre panel then moving onto the machine to do borders etc
now just need to find some time to be able to work on these what with wood-n-stitches keeping me very busy and the busy season upon us....oh well better get on with it then lol

With baby Mia only 9 weeks away, (although we were in the audience for a physic the other day Amee was told she would come early(we shall see))

Amee said "you haven't done any knitting yet"!

i did some knitting for Jake and although one of the jumpers he wore a lot the other one i never saw again lol,

Amees not really into hand knitting....
but this time with the baby being a girl Amee wants knitting.....so while standing on the market last week,i nipped into the wool shop and in between customers i knitted a plain little cardy
(i did it plain cause i couldn't concentrate on the pattern with people stopping me all the time lol)
so here is my first little cardy for baby Mia....right where are all my patterns, what shall i do next??

My scrapping kit that is,

so now i have photos, i have paper, so what shall i do with it all lol mmmmm lets see what i can come up with, its a long time since i have scrapped and have lost all ideas and mojo, probably need to have a look around and see if something inspires me.....and on the stitching front here is my progress on "the family sampler", its coming along slowly but surely, actually enjoying stitching this at the minute, i was not really in the zone when i started it but i am getting there now, i am loving the fact it gives you option for how many children you want to put in plus dogs and cats, so i am having me and the girls on one side dh and ds on the other with a dog and a cat.

so now i don't know what to do this evening, i need to be making quilts for wood-n-stitches but i want to be stitching and playing with paper HELP !!!!!!!!

Now i know not everyone gets excited about such little things as i do but on my usual sunday morning wonder round the carboot with the grandson and apart from the usual little toys and bits i come across, i found these this morning..... thought they would be perfect for displaying some stitching on, and when asked the price i was told 50p each i just had to have all 3....i love them, one need a very minor repair, but thats fine, seen as i expected them to say a couple of quid each i am a happy bunny with my find this morning.......
I was going to show you my progress on LHN "The Family Sampler" but while writing this blog entry i realised i have forgotten to take a piccy, which is essential to showing you something lol, so i will carry on stitching this afternoon and take a pic later......

if not a little breezy, but lovely in the sun, it started off early when jake and i went for a wonder round the car boot, jake is such a smart little chap, i bought him 3 little cars and a clear as anything he said to the lady, "could i have a bag please" and without me even prompting him, the lady behind the stall melted on the spot lol,

we then went to a scrapping shop where he was as good as gold and played in the kiddies corner while i bought some bits, some of which were kiddies transport themed papers.......and low and behold when grandad gets home off they go to wash the car, perfect for the transport theme lol

now he looks very busy but i can assure you most of the water ended up on him and not the car....but he enjoyed it none the less

ok so i have bought papers i have taken photos now i just need to put them all together mmmmmm

I got on ok with my stitching this week, quite enjoyed being in the zone again, although for some reason i have charts august and december missing so i need to find those, or re buy them before i can finish, i still have october and november to do which i do have the charts for but i am going to have a break and work on ....

Craft room clear up

I lost my craft room recently, i had been busy making stock for wood-n-stitches and as i hadnt realy been spending much time in there it became a dumping ground for stock, bags of fabric, rolls of wadding etc etc, along with my hall way, it had come to the point i couldnt even open the front door some will say this has been going on for some time, which it has but no way to that extent, but now as we have rented space i am able to sort it all out and reclaim my hallway and my craftroom, hurrah i cry, although i was not looking forward to the actual doing of the deed, i realy rather enjoyed it, i found things i had no idea i had and things i hadnt seen in some time
i found a front door lol
and i found stitching i had no idea where they had gone to, one of them was this LK i started a few years ago, i had forgotten all about it, but after finding it i have started to stitch on it again, jan and feb were already done so yesterday i started on march, i realy have the stitching bug at the moment and am enjoying stitching on this

pity i didnt find my brambles and roses though, wonder if that will ever turn up!!so i have my craft room back although i will be sharing it with my grandson when he stops at the weekend so i have invested in some boxes to keep everything out of little fingers way,

i have got the urge to scrapbook again and have just been out buying stash!!

Jo and i went to see our mate Polly yesterday, we had a lovely day, went for a wonder round a garden centre then out to lunch and then sat in polly's garden for the afternoon, it was just lovelythe sun was out and where we went for lunch was right by the water, it was gorgeousand while we were in the garden centre i just couldnt resist these two, buttons bunny if for our new grandbaby when she arrives and the little bird is for me lol, i just couldnt resist either of them !!

Easter egg hunt

We have just a had a lovely time in the garden with jake having an easter egg hunt, he was realy good and with a few "oh look over here" going on he found all of the eggs

they were in the trees and bushes, on the slide, in jakes bike, all over the place lol

and mixed in with little chicks and chicks filled with little chocolate eggs and sweatsoh and then we had to eat all the chocolate, well some of it, we are now trying to convince jake he realy doesnt want to eat it all but to save some for tomorrow, not convinced that is going to work lol

We had the "crafty weekend" from Wood-n-stitches this weekend, which was fantastic, the ladies asked for a bag workshop, so thinking cap on and i came up with this bag,which was the inspiration for the cushion i made for the exchange, which i loved and wanted to keep for myself, but didnt have time to make anything else so had to part with it, sooo during the weekend i came up with these too cushions, all for me, i very rarely manage to get anything to keep for myself so these are mine all mine lol, i'm rather pleased with them too lol

We are in the middle of the "Crafty weekend" in the scout hut, day 1 done, (and was fantastic fun) day 2 to go, this is the exchange piece i did which was received by the wendy lady, i realy enjoyed making this and very nearly kept it for myself lol, but decided to make myself some more instead!and this is what i received from jo, arent they fantastic, (thanks sandra, who made them) and jo !
back for another day today where i will hopefuly finish my cushions and everyone will finish their bags that they are making in the workshop, they are all doing fab, i will bring photos later lol

I have been spoilt again for mothers day,lots of lovely things from the kids, a tea towell and lovely heart from cara, and she is taking me out for a meal on tuesday, a mug and picture frame(complete with pic) and flowers from ameeNiall bought me this gorgeous flower basket, which arrived in Daisy's rucksack on the motorbike, amazing what you can carry on a motorbike loland from Jakey poo this gorgeous little keyring, isnt it cute lol

and some gorgeous cards with hand written notes i cant repeat in them ,cause they make me cry, soppy sod lol

Ok so i dont know where the time has gone it is almost the end of january already,
my head has been somewhere else with being ill for almost 7 weeks, got that sorted out with the help of the docs and had a few days of feeling better and WHAM another cold.....please go away and find somewhere else to live!

was just uploading some pics and realised i hadnt put any of caras birthday , we all went out for a meal which is the custom but she wouldnt let the whole cake and candles thing happen so that was done in private at home after lol
but i love this photo, the sparklers/candles are actualy in the shape of "21"
my babies aren't babies any more!!

The Family Sampler-progress

So i have started and here is my progress so far, not a lot to see, and a long way to go lol
i am using a frame for the first time in forever not something i usualy do i normaly just stitch in hand rolling it up but i have been having trouble with pains in my hands so have decided to try the frame and see how i get on that way,
so far so good

i have also be thinking about doing a stitchalong,
a christmas ornie one, something along the lines of ..
we make an ornie every other month say feb/april/june/aug/oct, we get to keep all our ornies to go on our own trees next christmas apart from octobers which we swap with someone else who has also been stitching them,
something along those lines,
trying to get my stitching bug going again
anyone care to join me in this, if there is enough interest i will make a Fb group or something similiar, maybe through
"exchange heaven"
any thoughts on this would be very welcome.

well i actualy finished it before christmas but havnt been on pc much with visitors etc

Scout hut crafters.......

We had our scout hut christmas party on sunday, which did include some crafting too,
i managed to make a quilt i needed to get done but i forgot my camera and then when i fetched the camera it didnt have a memory card in doh!! so no piccies of anyone this time but here are some gifts i received

after a lovely day we ended it by going to the "The Sample Cellar" for a lovely roast dinner which was fantasatic food as always.

Stitchy sundays!!

Ok so i said i was going to have sundays as my day for stitching,
i'm trying, not quite succeeding every week but i am getting there,
here is my progress so far, i am enjoying this one and it is great for getting me back into my stitching,
no colour changes nothing to much to think about just stitching lol
need to do a chritmassy design next me thinks to get me into the christmas spirit, and then choose my christmas stitching as in the something i stitch over the christmas holidays, no sewing machines just me and my stitching!!
ahhh cant wait!

Crop sunday

It was our monthly crop on sunday and we had a great day as we always do and i had a busy one too, i managed to make 3 lots of bunting and an advent calender for the shop

Weekend away...

Back to work this morning after a lovely weekend away, we spent the weekend with Jo and Ian in Stratford upon Avon,
on friday night we met up with Jak and Debs, Tony and Dave and went on a ghost walk round a very dark and old house, then we went for a meal which was gorgeous,
We stayed in the Shakespear hotel which was very old and creaky but perfect

after sleeping off our meal and topping up with a full english for breakfast on saturday we spent the day wondering round Stratford,
and relaxing in the hotel, which was just gorgeous, bagging the seats in front of this gorgeous open fire

there were so many places to sit and relax and open fires all over the place,
the atmosphere in the hotel was lovely and the staff very attentive,
definately a hotel to revisit

Vampire Jake

Jake 's nursery were dressing up for the day for halloween on friday ,
this is jake as a vampire, firstly with just the clothes on....

then with his makeup and hair done....

and 5 minutes later lol, boy does he look grown up with his hair lol

and then onto what i have been upto,
i have decided that i am working far too much although i am enjoying it greatly i am also missing doing my own thing so have decided sunday evenings is my time, my stitching time, so i started last week and i am working on "the sheltering tree", one colour nothing to taxing lol.....so we shall see how much i get done tonight, i am off to stitch now lol

Day 2-Crafty Weekend

Mssing people today but we still managed to have a great day, we even, for the last time this year i am sure managed to sit outside for lunch which was just lovely.

there was a little more productivity today....but not much lol

well that was day one over in a flash, blink and you missed it.....i wish you could slow down time for these things
lots of laughter as always and i think a little bit of crafting was done...maybe lol
we did have a friendly sheep as a visitor first thing, employed to cut the grass but he was too interested in joining in the fun so had to go cut someone elses grass for a while lol

Its very hard to get things onto the website when they are ones off's like the quilts and cushions, no sooner are they made and on the stall when they are gone! very good i know but i would love to be able to show you more of them like the alphabet with bright yellow and purple gingham baby quilts gorgeous but no sooner made they are gone, here are a few we have at the minute.......
a single bed quilt, lovely and bright, great for any childs bedroom or play room

and these gorgeous "baby" baby quilts lol so much fun.

well apart from my sewing machine working overtime as usual, poor thing just keeps going for me lol, not that i have done much sewing this week, well not as much as usual, i have been busy with other things, vouchers to go in goodie bags for a health and beauty fair we are doing on sunday in nottingham, i have also been working on an order of personalised aprons for the staff of a local cafe, then sorting through all the boxes that keep arriving at the house, a ton of body shop goodies, and this lot, well the ragdolls have been here a week or so, but the jigs arrived yesterday....

Seen as i can talk for england why am i sat here fingers at the ready thinking, what can i say??
something i dont normaly have trouble with lol but today!!!
so what can i tell you, realy busy with wood n stitches, its going fantastic and is keeping me realy busy which is great but very tiring, realised i haven't had a day off in many many weeks, no wonder i am tired, and i realise also that i am missing jakey time,
he is always over one night at the weekend but is asleep for most of that, so i get to play for a couple of hours then its to bed than in the morning i get an hour or so and i'm off to market or a craft fair, another two weekends working then i think on the third i might have a sunday off lol cant wait for jakey day, it is lovely though that i do get to see him, lots of nipping in and out and a couple of phone calls a day, he takes the phone to his mum and says "nanna", and gets quite upset until mummy rings me ,how sweet is that, we have some lovely little chats, he tells me about rory(whoever that is) and igglgiggle, as he calls him lol a lot of it i have no idea what he is saying lol but i just love our chats
here is our cheeky little monkey, realy do need to have some time with him and the camera, he is growing so fast!
he will be 2 a couple of days before christmas, where does the time go??
there you go i am all dried up now i have waffled for a minute or two!

Fantastic Weekend

well that was an adventure lol, Jo and i had a great weekend camping in a park in the middle of nottingham surrounded by a fair and thousands of screaming kids lol
imagine the picture ...a huge slide on one side ,a football penalty game on the other, jo and i in a little tent in the middle in bed with thousands of screaming kids having fun all around and if you cant get out to go home what do you do? you just take the barriers down lol
yes we were at the Riverside festival in nottingham, it was great fun but very tiring with trading up until 11pm friday and saturday and then 6pm sunday, forgot to take pictures of the campsite but i do have one of the stall before trading on sunday

we met lovely people again, Toniann who was on the toy stall next to us and very helpful.
i am now busy loading lots of goodies to the website, got so much to do and so many new things in the production stage....so had better get back to it.

What a week!!

well no pics this time, i have an awful week and not got anything done that i should have, my car broke down a few weeks ago and has been playing up ever since, think you have fixed it ....then nope its off again, well last week we decided enough was enough, it was an oldie and didnt owe us anything so time for a new car,
found what we wanted but that fell through with some work that needed doing to it, so found another...this week it has just been s o o o s l o w in getting it sorted and so frustrating, have had to make a trip to the dealers every day after work which is the other side of nottingham in rush hour traffic on a motorbike...not funny!
told him i realy realy needed it by last night but nope we are picking it up this morning, back to other side of nottingham through early morning rush hour traffic on the bike....of what fun...not
then it is quick run round asda then home and pack the car cause Wood-n-stitches if off to THE RIVERSIDE festival in nottingham at lunchtime
talk about by the skin of your teeth lol

so i had all these plans for things to get done this week and none of it has happened, and i just have one big headache lol
but realy looking forward to the weekend, hoping the weather is ok as we are camping there !!!

i will take lots of pics hopefuly

Firslty congrats to my son Niall for passing his motorbike test yesterday, well done Niall, he is now off looking for a new bike to buy lol

well i have been busy with a bit of this and a bit of that lol but it all adds up to keeping me very busy
firstly well maybe not firstly but somewhere along the line i have been working on a little christmas design for the forum "a crafty natter" we are designing some christmas ornies to share, i have finished designing and stitching i just need to "finish" it and then chart it, i am loving it, hope the others like it too!

then my wood and stitches work, been making some cushion, a sail boat on the waves

then i am making some pram/mosses basket quilt sets for the babies

then back to cushions and this time with matching bunting, there will be a union jack design to match coming very soon.

i have also been filling orders, two gorgeous (if i say so myself) single bed quilts for twin girls who had their birthday the other day, grandma was very pleased with the finished articles and now wants one for herself lol
there have been banners and cushions and more bunting for orders too, cant wait for the halloween fabrics to get here got so many things to do with those lol

other news we have now also taken on the Body Shop and have taken a regular slot on the market, on the days when we are not at shows, so actualy not a lot of time off but i am realy enjoying the ride and can't wait to see where it takes us !

so as i mentioned the body shop, if anyone fancies having a pamper evening with your friends just let me know

Our holiday.....

we managed to get a few days away and took the gang to Dorset, Swanage to be precise!, the weather was not the best, very wild but as it turned out home just rained all week, we were lucky, we had very wild nights, although i loved it, the wind was so strong and we were in a caravan surrounded by trees but i loved listening to the wind and rain, each day by mid morning the rain stopped and it dried up and we managed to get in beach time.......
a fimly tradition is the penny arcades, or the 2penny as we always play in, jske is starting young and loved the machines lol

and then onto the beach, he just loved it and managed to eat some of it too along with his icecream...and he managed to bring some back with him, in his pushchair and his clothes lol

and then there was pepper pig(or mum as amee says she is) but jake calls her pepper and niall won her from one of the machines and jake has clung on ever since

i have lost of photos and will share them later but for now its back to work........

just wanted to show you this pic of jake taken in the garden the other day, deep in thought, what can i get upto now?
looks like butter wouldnt melt but boy is he into everything, can't believe how fast he is growing and he repeats everything you say now, its lovely to hear hime trying to say words and the names he calls people, Cara will always be known as Rara now lol

had a busy weekend too, i made this bag for Daisy (Nialls girlfriend) she wanted a beach bag to take with us when we go away next week so i made this one yesterday, i have heard a few "i want one" since then lol,
then i have made the fronts on two patchwork single quilts i have an order for, just need to layer, back and quilt them now but its monday and back to work so that will have to wait until this evening to get started on that task.

just realy busy sewing seat covers , i help someone out a couple of times a year and this is it, i have been sewing them for about two weeks an hour before work and a couple of hours after work, shattered but another week and it shall be done lol, i have managed to take a few hours in between times to finish a lap quilt and make a single bed quilt, i will take some pics when i get my house back, looks like a factory at the minute lol

but on another note we have booked our holiday at last, going in a month so needed to get on with it, 4 nights in swanage with nearly all the kids, it will be lovely, lewis will be missing but maybe next time we will get them all! just hope for good weather, fingers crossed

anyway off to the day job.............

A girl is surposed to work with a kitten that just won't leave me alone lol, she has nearly been stithed in a few times, its just play time ALL the time for Lola, although she has worn herself out and is now fast asleep right in the middle of it all lol

you should see when i am hand stitching, she goes crazy for my threads and if she can't get them its my scissors, she loves the scissor keep dangling lol

oh well better get back to it while she is asleep, off out to a craft fair tomorrow so busy busy

We had our monthly get together at the scout hut yesterday,
we stayed lovely and cool in the hut and sat outside in the gorgeous sunshine for lunch, it was a great day, we had a cushion workshop, (see wood-n-stitches blog for pics of that)
and i received my spring exchange from Ann, which i did'nt get last time as Ann could'nt make it, it was worth the wait, look at this gorgeous note book cover Ann made for me and the other lovely bits that came with it, its all just gorgeous thankyou Ann, i love it all.

i have been busy this past couple of days, well i have been busy this past couple of months actualy, no hold on i am always busy lol....mmmmm anyway i have just finished this quilt and i am loving it, the colours, the finish , everything, what do you think?

and of course i have a little someone getting in the way, no sorry trying to help! she is always in the way, we had to send her upstairs to Cara last night when i was trying to sew the binding on, she just would'nt let me do it, kept trying to chew my thread, its a wonder she did'nt get stabbed with the needle lol, she wasn't happy about being shut out but was soon back terrorising me lol, she even came up and woke me up by attacking me while i was in bed asleep last night and purring very loudly lol i had to hide under the duvet but she kept getting in lol

Look at this little thing, just full of blossom and its only 4ft tall, there's not many things i am taller than but i am taller than my apple tree lol, and

this little tree out the front, i have plum trees, apple, pears,cherry, cookers....we shall she what fruits we get this year but they are looking very happy at the minute

Was had by all at Stratford upon Avon, its just great spending time with great friends, thanks Jak and Deb for a great time and to spend it with you guys, thanks to Karen for being a perfect roomy
and great to see everyone else again, Mary was as usual keeping us entertained,

well back to the real world, i went fabric shopping this morning and have some ideas in my head for new goodies for wood and stitches, so back to it.

Fab Weekend...

well we have had a fantastic weekend despite the weather, the sun was out for most of it, saturday was a gorgeous day with sunshine and no wind, sunday was a bit windy and BBrrrrr, monday we had a bit of everything!

Lola, isn't she gorgeous, 8 weeks old and so cuddly, all she wants to do is cuddle and play but then she has just been taken from mummy and 4 brothers and sisters ,she is a bit confused as to what she is, she spent all last evening on my shoulder like a parrot!! Baldrick is wondering what all the fuss is about and why does this tiny little thing make such funny noises whenever he goes near lol she is not his best friend yet but i am sure she will be getting used to him soon!

and then there came Deedee, named so because all
Jake can say for Baldrick is deedee and all dogs are named the same lol
this is Amee's new addition to the family, 12 weeks old and so calm and lovely, i'm sure she will make her mark soon enough when she feels at home

A lazy sunday afternoon,
well we had a lovely morning wondering round the carboots in the sunshine and fresh air, havn't managed it in quite a few weeks so i was up and ready to go first thing and glad we did, found myself a good few bargains and then off to wilko's to buy all i need for the new member of our family that arrives on friday evening, LOLA our new furbaby,
i lost my baby Mizzy nearly two years ago(boy where does the time go)i call her my baby but she was 15 and i miss her greatly! anyway i have never been without a cat and was beginning to miss having one around but Niall and Lewis were looking for a kitty cat each and we went to see some, i knew full well as soon as i saw them i would want one and withing 5 minutes had chosen her! they were only a week old so we have had to wait but friday is the day.

so we got home and after our lovely morning i decided to take myself off upstairs to read for an hour, i can't read with the telly on downstairs!........ have you ever done the i'm reading.......two hours later i open my eye's and i havn't even turned the page i started on lol yes i fell asleep, i'm putting it down to my busy week, because between the start of the crafty weekend and yesterday i have produced this little lot so i am going to forgive myself my little nap lol

well off to do something constructive...like sit and watch the telly with a cold drink lol
no sewing for me today i'm having a day off!

Please can i tell you about something new, i have joined forces with a good friend Jo and together we have created wood-n-stitches.co.uk

we have some new and exciting things planned for the future, wood and stitches comprises of decorative painted items, quilted gifts and things for the home, hand dyed needlework fabrics and threads along with charts from Jayniffa designs and many other well known designers.

we also have workshops planned so you can come along and make some of the items yourself, painting, quilting/patchwork, scrapbooking, stitching,tole painting, we are happy to bring the workshops to you and your crafting group.

we can also be found out and about at craft fairs, come see us at MELTON DAY which is on the 31st of may, more dates and details to follow.

Here we have the Sadie bag, named so because of my workfriend Sadie when i pulled this one out of the bag to show her got very excited..."00h i like that one" i always take my projects in to show them to see what they think...i think she liked this one lol

then we have the wallet this has a bag to match but i can't show you that yet as it still needs its button lol, most of the bags will have wallets to match, i have one of these wallets that i use all the time and love it

it was crop day today and we were all very industrious, got a bag made a wallet to match finished and another bag a 1/3 of the way through, my poor machine is so tired and needs a rest so it has been left in its trolley, but sshhh just for tonight, it will be back out and busy tomorrow lol

I have been pretty busy this past week or so i have been making lots of goodies, lots of kiddies drawstring bags, some tote bags, here are two of them, they are called "The Cherry Blossom bag" named so because the first one reminded me of that, but as you can see it can come in many different colors, of which it will do so, a butterfly design is under the machine needle as we speak, literaly lol

i have also been playing with this design for a round box, several of those have been stitched just need making up,
i have also designed another hand bag which i will show you soon...camera batteries decided to give up lol

well the butterflies are waiting....back to it....

Here are my lovely gifts from the kids, Niall made the first one all himself, it has a teddy, mug and plate, balloon, keyring, badge, and some coconut mushrooms yum yum

then from Cara this gorgeous plaque and teddy, and more choccie, i'm resisting eating it, so far so good lol,

From Amee i had some Flowers, just realised i forgot to take a piccie, she is also getting me a CD but can't actualy find it at the minute, i saw the advert and can't remember where you can buy it lol, so am looking out for the advert again!

Here you can also see jake delivering his mummy her pressies, (also made by niall, clever clogs) it was bigger than jake and he could'nt lift it so we put it in his trolley he had great fun driving it around and when he came to deliver it he just shook the trolley till it fell at his mummies feet lol....delivered!!
